Dogfish Head 75 Minute IPA. Could This Be The Goldilocks of Continually Hopped IPAs?

Much like Goldilocks and her search for porridge that was not too cold and not too hot, a chair that was not too big and not too small, and a bed that was not too hard and not too soft, we were on the lookout for the IPA sweet spot, i.e. not too mild and not too abrasive when it comes to hoppiness. Thankfully, the ever crafty folks at Milton, Delaware's Dogfish Head Brewery understand that IPA perfection is a very subjective thing, so over the years, they've developed a series of continually hopped IPAs that go by the following names...

With ABVs ranging from as low as 6% to as high as 15 to 20%, and with IBUs ranging from 60 to 120, we're confident that there just has to be a Dogfish Head continually hopped IPA out there to please just about any IPA lover.

On today's episode of A Tasting at The Murder Table, we sample what may be the Goldilocks of this series of beers, the 75 Minute IPA which clocks in at 7.5% ABV and 75 IBUs. Before we get to the review, here's what Dogfish Head had to say about this beer:

What began as a cask-conditioned ale at our Rehoboth brewpub back in 2011, quickly grew to become a cult-favorite amongst craft enthusiasts. From the groucho glasses that adorned the label to it's slightly dry and lingering bitterness, 75 Minute was (and is) beloved by many. Now in our latest iteration, this classic IPA is again brewed with maple syrup from Sam's family farm in Massachusetts, while being continually hopped throughout the boil, and then dry-hopped with a slew of cascade hops. The result is a malty and earthy brew with citrusy-pine aromas, balanced by subtle maple notes.

We last had this beer way back when it was introduced in 2011 at a Philly Beer Week event. We really enjoyed this back then, but for whatever reason, we haven't had the chance to retry it until now. Was this beer as delicious as we remember? The only way to find out is to click the play button on the following video:
