You said ’twas okay
You thought it was all right
You imagined everything will be perfect
You envisioned a future’s so bright
You felt you were a Princess
And there was a Prince standing tall
You dreamt to build a kingdom
Out of bricks and stones
You soared high above the sky
In oblivion, you thought you can fly
The wind swept you back and forth
Into the ground you fell, now you’re broke
From within, a voice softly asked
Didn’t I tell you the skies so high, you can’t afford
The height’s so frightening even to look at
And the roaring thunderclaps will turned you deaf and dumb
Didn’t I tell you it’s too risky
To explore the worlds you’ve never been to
Didn’t I tell you to expect the worst?
Didn’t I tell you?
Didn’t I tell you it’s not okay?
To be a foolhardy
Didn’t I tell you that it’s alright?
Not to get everything you want?
But you said you are a dreamer
And fight for everything you want
You said, it’s all worth it
To shed tears for the one you love
But then the tempest turned into storm
And frosty snow into blizzard
Waves dominate the calm blue sea
Corals broken into pieces
Who said life is fairytale
Comes from a deep slumber
Reality is evident around
But you can choose to live with dreams
Now you’re hurt. Now you’re broke
But don’t whine coz it’s the path you chose
You were heedless then and this is the prize
For being selfish….for being smug
Didn’t I tell you?
You can’t twist the turn of tide
Our life story has already been made
Though we don’t have idea how it will end
Don’t try to change the fate
Coz you’ll be in vain if you insist
Go with the flow and accept
You can’t pivot destiny the way you want it
Look at me, the voice whispered
I am your inner self
I am at peace with who I am
Coz I leave everything in HIS hands
I wish you could do the same
Coz I don’t want to see you in pain
If only I can
If only I can
If only your life was written down with pencil
I’d erase it for you
If only ’twas engraved in sand
It’ll be easier to let it go
If only your darkness can be brighten up
Mother sun would have tried enough
If only your tears can be dried
coz I don’t wanna hear you sob
By now, you should have known
You’ve made your moves impulsively
And everything went wrong
From now on, I want you to learn
Don’t dream of what’s beyond
Your hands could hardly reach
Don’t be envious of what others have
And be contented instead
