Sean Diddy Combs, a prominent yet highly controversial American rapper, has been implicated in harassing his ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura, as revealed by a newly obtained surveillance video. This footage corroborates allegations made by Ventura in her November 2023 lawsuit.
The viral video, captured in 2016, depicts a distressing scene involving Combs and Ventura. In the footage, Ventura exits a hotel room and heads toward the elevator, only to be followed by Combs, who is clad in just a towel. Combs then grabs Ventura by the neck, pushes her to the ground, and kicks her aggressively before seizing her belongings. After lying still on the ground for a few seconds, Ventura is kicked again by Combs, who then drags her back to the room. Although he initially lets her go, Combs resumes the attack with an object from a nearby table as Ventura attempts to flee to the elevator.
Douglas H. Wigdor, Ventura’s attorney, commented on the video, stating:
“The harrowing video has only reinforced the disturbing and predatory actions of Mr. Combs. Ms. Ventura’s bravery and resilience in coming forward to expose this cannot be overstated.”
In her November 2023 lawsuit, Ventura detailed the incident at the InterContinental Hotel in Century City, Los Angeles. She described how in or around March 2016, Combs, extremely intoxicated, punched her in the face, resulting in a black eye.
The lawsuit elaborates:
“After he fell asleep, Ms. Ventura attempted to leave the hotel room. However, as she exited, Mr. Combs woke up and started screaming at her. He chased her into the hallway, yelling, and threw glass vases at her, which shattered around her as she ran toward the elevator to escape.”
Ventura managed to escape and took a cab to her apartment, as she clarified in the lawsuit.
