The bride shared with us: "We met through common friends while studying in the same city. He proposed in the vineyards after a long walk. I bought my wedding dress on a weekend trip with my parents and brother to New York. Because of COVID, our wedding got postponed by a year and I ended up needing major alterations-the dress was way too big, I wanted to change the color of the lining, and add bows to the shoulders. I found a wonderful lady who helped me transform the dress into the soft and elegant look I wanted."

"We wanted the wedding to be fresh and elegant, in line with the natural beauty of the island, but we also wanted some vivid color. We opted for an abundance of luxurious flowers to contrast with the colors of the surroundings and to capture life and the dramatic feelings of the day. The flowers were complemented with many candles to set a romantic and intense scene. The setting of the ceremony was perfect, with the dramatic flowers and a string quartet framing a traditional Greek orthodox wedding on a private terrace with a view of the island and the sea. The reception was simply gorgeous, and not at all like any other wedding we had been to. No two tables were the same. Friends and family were seated close together among a sea of flowers and candles and with the sound of crashing waves and a saxophonist. Our favorite moment was the ceremony itself. We both really took it in..."

The bride's advice to other brides-to-be: "First, get a good wedding planner that you trust and have a good connection with. That person can help bring your vision to life, without you having to imagine every detail and stress out about it. Second, don't underestimate the importance of your hair and makeup artist. He/she is for sure one of the most important people on the wedding day as he/she spends some very intimate moments with you and is key to you feeling not only pretty, but also calm. Third, choose some basic elements that are super important to you (for me it was the flowers and music) and don't stress out about any of the other details".

"Also, we had decided not to have a videographer. The day before the wedding my wedding planner, Ioanna Vamvakari told me that she thinks we will regret it and have someone who could come last minute. In the end we were convinced and I am so so so glad!! The wedding video is the one thing we shared with all friends and family (also those that could not be there) and that we often watch again. Seeing the movement and hearing the sounds of the day is priceless (because you won't remember some details or you see some moments that you were not present for). Of course, the videographer has to be good and we had the best!"
