Defense Minister Meets with Military Delegations from Iran and Mozambique

Minister of the People’s Armed Forces Col. Gen. Jang Jong Nam held separate meetings on 25 July (Thursday) with two military delegations visiting the DPRK to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the end of active hostilities of the Fatherland Liberation War (Korean War).  Col. Gen. Jang met with Agostinho Salvador Mondlane, Vice Minister of Defense leading a delegation of the Armed Forces for the Defense of Mozambique.  Col. Gen. Jang also met with Sayed Hamidreza Tabatabaei, Deputy Commander of the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran at the head of a delegation of the Iranian military.

The military delegation from Mozambique, as well as a separate delegation from Uganda’s Ministry of Defense and the Uganda People’s Defense Force toured Mangyo’ngdae, the birthplace of DPRK founder and President Kim Il Sung (Kim Il-so’ng) in western Pyongyang and visited the Mangyo’ngdae Revolutionary School.  According to KCNA Odongo Jeje, head of the Ugandan delegation said ” thePresident brought freedom and liberation to the Korean people and led the Fatherland Liberation War to a victory” and Agostinho Salvador Mondlane, head of the delegation from Mozambique said “The President was a peerlessly great man whom the Korean and Mozambican peoples and the world people deeply revere.”  In a separate visit, military delegations from Mongolia and from the Vietnamese People’s Army General Poltical Department visited the Museum of Weapons and Equipment of the Korean People’s Army [KPA] on 25 July.
