What’s your plan for Halloween this year? Many people are considering Game of Thrones costumes, and for good reason. These are some of the most awesome characters on television right now. One of the reasons people love these characters is because of the elegant hairstyles. Here’s a list of GoT hair-dos you can try as suggested by hairstylist Diane McNamara

Daenerys Targaryen

She’s the hero everyone loves to hate, but she’s one of the most gorgeous females in GOT. If you’re going to attempt to transform yourself into Khaleesi, you may need a wig to pull off the Daenerys Targaryen hairstyle. But, if you’re brave, here’s how to do it yourself.

The look is made up of 4 plaits that are spit into 2 pairs across 2 sections of hair. Create the plaits, and then take the first two and make a dutch plait out it, wrapping it around your head and tying it off at the back with a band or clip of some kind.

For the second row do the same thing, but tie off the plaits with the ponytail made by the first row. Spray it down and hope it holds.

Cersei Lannister

Cersei may be devious, but she looks innocently romantic. To get her look, you’ll start by sectioning off your hair into three parts and clipping the top section of your hair out of the way. Take the bottom two sections and tie them into two separate ponytails – they should lay on top of each other. Now, take the middle ponytail and plait and pull it all the way down the back of the head and secure it at the bottom.

The top section should be split in two and then twist it away from the face and bring the pieces back together at the back of the hair, placing them right above the second ponytail.

Margaery Tyrell

Margaery’s hairstyle requires that you take a short trip back into the 1980s for a second – just a second. You need volume. Rough-dry your hair to about 80 percent dry. It should be a little damp. Then, section it off into three parts and secure each section with a hairband.

Leave your hair like this overnight. When you wake up, remove the hairbands and pull out the plaits. Now, run your fingers through your hair to give it a natural texture and take the front sections and twist them away from the face, securing them with a pin. If you want, you can even twist your hair all the way to the back of your head.

Sansa Stark

Sansa’s hairstyle looks classic, and it is – it’s also simple. To pull it off, you need to wash and dry your hair. Get it combed out good. You need it smooth. When the hair is dry, section off some of the hair above your ears and pull it back into a ponytail that lays flat against the head.

Melisandre Mhysa

The eastern priestess may not be a goody-two-shoes, but she’s got amazing hair. Fortunately, this one is simple. Start by creating a middle part, and then straighten your hair in sections. Brush the hair so that it’s absolutely smooth. Gather it to one side and start plaiting your hair with three chunky sections. Finally, finish the plait half-way up your hair so that it creates a long “tail.”

You can then use a curling iron to make the curl at the end of the tail.

Missandei

As the devoted servant of the Mother of Dragons, you’d think Missandei’s hair style wouldn’t be all that complicated. And, that’s what’s so deceiving about it. It is a bit difficult to pull off. If you weren’t born with corkscrew curls, you probably want them, right? Here’s how to get the look.

First, wash and dry your hair. Divide it into sections and take a small section and wrap it around a foam roller. Make sure that the section of hair isn’t wider than the roller. The smaller, and tighter, the better.

Work across the rest of your hair until everything is secured in a foam roller. If you want serious curls for the day-of. Consider sleeping in curlers. Remove them when ready and spray your hair like crazy.
