So what's next?
I have learnt that I can simply add Milo into my favorite Easy Mix-and-Cook Crispy Buttermilk Waffles recipe at here.
Well, you know...
Crispy Waffles + Milo = Crispy Milo Waffles!
I must admit... Just the idea itself has made me excited! LOL!
As Milo contains 44g sugar in every 100g, I don't have to add any sugar to make these Milo waffles crispy and nice. These very Milo waffles with no added sugar are not sweet, just nice! When I served these waffles with light drizzles of condensed milk and a sprinkle of extra Milo, they were simply heavenly. Yum!!!

I'm impressed.
The addition of Milo hasn't alter the light, spongy and crispy texture of the waffles.
And they are best with drizzles of condensed milk and a sprinkle of Milo. Yum!!!

In fact, the addition of Milo will make seven thick waffles instead of the regular five and the texture of the waffles remains the same... So light, spongy and crispy!

Before proceeding to the recipe, I would like to clarify that I'm not paid by Milo and not promoting this product. I just like Milo and love creating nice recipes with it.

Here's the recipe.
Makes seven thick 9 x 9 cm thick waffles
The dry ingredients:
90g (2/3 cup) all purpose / plain flour
45g (1/3 cup) cornflour
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
The wet ingredients:
100ml (7 tbsp) milk, cold
100ml (7 tbsp) buttermilk, cold - This is an important ingredient, please do not substitute this with milk and vinegar.
70g (1/2 cup) Milo or any chocolate malted milk powder
60g (1/4 cup) unsalted butter, melted and cooled slightly
1 large egg, cold
vegetable oil spray, to grease the waffle iron
drizzles of condensed milk, maple syrup or any syrup to serve if desiredextra sprinkle Milo to serve if desired
Combine other dry ingredients in a plastic bag or bowl.
In a extra large measuring cup or large mixture bowl, pour milk and buttermilk with the correct volume in it. Add Milo, melted butter and egg. Use a fork or a little hand whisk to mix until combined and it is ok if the mixture has clumps of butter and the Milo is not completely dissolved.
Add dry ingredients into the wet mixture and stir until combined. Do not over-mix! Allow mixture to rest at room temperature for about 5 mins.
While the batter is resting, preheat waffle iron to its medium low heat setting - not the lowest!
Spray preheated waffle iron with non-stick oil spray. Caution: If you are cooking waffles on the your stove, please do not spray cooking oil into direct fire! Using the same measuring cup, pour adequate waffle batter (about 1/3 cup to 1/2 cup) onto hot waffle iron. Close the waffle iron and flip it immediately so that the batter will spread onto the both sides of the iron evenly. Cook until both sides are crispy and golden. Repeat this step until all the batter has been used.
Serve immediately or keep warm in a 100°C or 200°F oven until ready to serve. Please note the waffles are not sweet. Serve with drizzles of condensed milk or any syrup plus extra sprinkle of Milo if you like.
Enjoy your waffles!
