Cougar Town and Hart of Dixie Was All I Watched Last Night.

Posted on the 30 January 2013 by Kristy47 @watchingwaytoomuch
Sorry for the SUPER early posting, but I have a meeting in East Brunswick NJ that starts at 7AM!  Crazy right?

Cougar Town and Hart of Dixie was all I watched last night.

The answer to Tuesday's Trivia Question: The Chicago Bears recorded the rap song "Super Bowl Shuffle" and then won the Super Bowl.  Here is the video in case you forgot it.

Not as well remembered is the New England Patriots video, "New England, the Patriots and We".  But here it is if you care:

The flu epidemic hit the fictional town of Blue Bell Alabama on Hart of Dixie last night. A quarantine was issued to protect everyone from the flu, unfortunately thanks to Wade who kept his shirt ON the entire episode, the entire town got sick.  First Zoey tried to take care of him but just like all men, he was miserable and wanted to be left alone, then thanks to the magic of TV, he was better in what seemed like a minute and it was his turn to take care of Zoey...awwww too cute. Lemon was preparing to get lucky with Walt when the flu hit her and she was out for the count.  Annabeth and Levon were helping George with a Blue Bell tourism video and tried to keep their lips apart, but even the possibility of the flu couldn't hold them back from finally making out.  I guess Lavon got over what's her name already...you know the annoying Ruby who was "the one" after Lemon was "the one".  I like Annabeth...lets let these two kids have a little something for once.
Hopefully you all listened to me and watched the Kimmel rerun last night. Since I saw it already, I switched over to Cougar Town which didn't disappoint.  Great clothes, 2 hilarious references, crazy Ali Wentworth alert and finally, the official acceptance of Tom, the neighbor in the window, into the Cul D Sac crew.  The first great reference was when Jules and Laurie were reminiscing about the time they lived out song lyrics, they drank Pina Colada's and Danced in the Dark,  It's not coming across in this post as clever, but the way they did it, trust me, it really was.  Even more clever was the reference to Grayson's now missing child. If you watch the show, you would know that last season, we found out that Grayson has a kid.  I think the writers and Bill Lawrence realized that this was a road they shouldn't have turned onto and thankfully course corrected.  Andy and Grayson were just sitting around drinking beers when Andy asked "don't you have a kid?" Grayson's response was yeah she's in that photo.  But again, the reference was well executed and sort of closed the loop for all of us as to what happened to the kid.  Loved it.
NEWS & INFORMATION:
Quite a few program renewals were announced today, here they are:
  • Cinemax gave it's freshman drama Banshee the nod and already ordered a second season.  I'm 3 episodes behind on this one, but totally intend on catching up, especially now that I know it's going to be around for a while.
  • CBS is sticking with The Bold and the Beautiful, The Young and the Restless, The Talk, Lets Make a Deal, and The Price is Right for another year. I don't DVR any of these, but just in case you do, you can extend the season pass.
  • Shameless, House of Lies and Californication are all good for another year too according to Showtime.  I've been hearing from quite a few of you that perhaps one or two of these should be put to out of its misery already, but I wouldn't know since I am not watching these either.
-If you haven't seen it already, Coca-Cola has posted part 1 of their Super Bowl campaign online. The ad is a:60 spot with a cliffhanger that allows people you to vote on what the conclusion will be during the Super Bowl (the final spot will be :90).  It's a cross between something from Death Race 2000 and Mad Max and Priscilla Queen of the Desert, as different groups are racing through the desert to reach a giant Coke bottle. Cool strategy in my humble opinion. Check it out here:

-Scott Wolf, aka, Bailey Sallinger, will be heading over to Perception on TNT as a recurring guest star. I loved Bailey Sallinger so much that his arrival MAY get me to tune in.  I'll let you know what I decide when the show comes back for its second season.
-Three times each will hopefully be the charm for Melissa "Half Pint" Gilbert and Timothy "Elliot from 30 Something" Busfield.  They got engaged over the holidays, who knew they were dating? Nobody told me about it, it wasn't in US Magazine, nothing.  So congrats HP!

-Well, I thought Alec Baldwin would chill for a while after 30 Rock ended, but his long naps and cocktails by the pool will be over soon enough when there's a screaming baby disrupting the fun.  Good Luck Alec. Better you than me!

Wednesday's Super Bowl SUPER tough Trivia Question: Name three left handed quarterbacks to start in the Super Bowl.

Bonus: Name the only one to start and lose the Super Bowl:
