I have actually featured this beautiful coffee place on my blog last year. ( You can read it here.) Let me tell you that after my first visit, I pass by Dark Specialty Coffee from time to time BUT never got the chance to try the dishes they offer. You see, I usually pass by the mall after work which means I only think about grabbing a cup of coffee or tea on my way home.
But this month along with #WeLoveToEatPH peeps, I was able to try their hot savoury snacks and baked goods. Ready to see what they have?

Though Dark's specialty is coffee, they also offer handcrafted chocolates, teas, empanada, pasta, and pocket pita. Let's start with their three Signature Pasta dishes - Pasta Maria Ana, Pasta Eduardo and Classic Italian Pesto.
Classic Italian Pesto PHP 155
This homemade Italian pesto is made from organic sweet basil, extra virgin olive oil, pine nuts, garlic and sea salt.
Pasta Eduardo PHP 165
Ultra creamy pasta topped with crispy sun-dried fish flakes.
Another dish they offer is the Pocket Pita. Dark Specialty Coffee's Pocket Pita are homemade and handmade. Each is generously infused with fresh and ultra-nutritious Malunggay (Moringa Oleifera) leaves. We got to try their Chicken (PHP 155) and 3-Mushroom Melt (PHP 155) Pocket Pitas.
If you want a simple and classic dish, they also offer Herbed Empanada. It's made of special buttery dough generously infused with fresh moringa leaves.
Now for dessert. Dark Specialty Coffee has quite a selection from cakes to cookies and other pastries.
So...
What do I recommend?
If you're there for a meal, I recommend the Classic Italian Pesto. Every bite is satisfyingly flavorful. Now if you're there for a quick meal then go for their homemade and handmade Pocket Pita or the Herbed Empanada. I really enjoyed these two. They don't skimp on taste or filling.
Now for the dessert. Don't miss the chance. Order a slice of their Red Velvet. In my previous blog, I said, "The best is the Red Velvet Cake. There was a medley of mouth-watering flavours which made our taste buds happy." I stand by my statement. 🙂
What about the drinks? Well, you really have to figure that out because some love coffee while others prefer tea. Me? I love both. My mornings are devoted to hot coffee or tea. Come afternoon, cold ones are the best. BUT if you're having a difficult time choosing, don't be shy to ask their friendly baristas for a recommendation.
