Cocoa and Co’s Queen Elizabeth’s Birthday Cake: A Cake Fit For a Queen

By Nogarlicnoonions @nogarlicnoonion

Last night, HMA Tom Fletcher and the British Embassy in Beirut celebrated Queen Elizabeth’s birthday in style. This event deserves a moment on NGNO. A gorgeous birthday cake prepared and designed by Hala Audi Beydoun, of Cocoa&Co was presented at the embassy to celebrate this royal occasion.

The details of the cake are outstanding – a majestic piece of art indeed. A bejeweled, all-edible gingerbread crown tops the three layered cake, with every layer expressing Great Britain.

Buckingham Palace’s changing guards stand strong at the bottom layer. The British flags tightly hug the middle layer, while Queen’s Elizabeth’s cameo circles the top layer with pride.

Using various techniques in decorating, Hala perfected every detail of the cake with intricate sugarpaste and royal icing shapes around the cake as well as elaborate piping techniques.

Not only does the cake look marvelous, it also tatses great!  Each layer of the cake boasts a delicious, sophisticated flavor: the bottom one is a dark chocolate cake layered with ganache icing, the middle, an exquisite carrot cake layered with cream cheese frosting, the Ambassador’s favorite, and the top one a vanilla rainbow cake in the colors of the British flag, soaked in kirsch liquor and layered with mascarpone cream.

Hala is a true artist. An artist of flavor, color and design… We are proud of you Hala. Keep up the great work…

The best of luck from NGNO.
