Cleeve Abbey Wedding Photography was launched late last year with Cleeve being a new choice in the Somerset Wedding venue market. A beautiful & historic 800 year old Cistercian Abbey, said to contain the finest cloister buildings in England
A collaborative group of fine wedding suppliers and artists arranged a themed bridal shoot back in December, where we could pool our skills to create a spectacular set of images showcasing our finest work.
It was something new to me, doing something wedding related that wasn’t documentary – but it sure was fun! Completely directed in concept and execution, utilising the venues various aesthetic qualities along with having on board two very special models. Kelly & Gavin, a real couple, who are clients of mine and due to get married very shortly.
So we had a glorious venue, a great real couple, talented wedding suppliers, along with the vision of generating a set of showcase pictures….. Come to think of it, we also had an engagement shoot with a bit of a difference
I had one stipulation for the theme, I wanted to do something different with the styling, away from what I had covered in my real weddings. I had seen some wonderful photography of brides wearing floral crowns as opposed to holding a bouquet – so as long as we had this, I was happy.
The other suppliers also had their own visions of what they wanted to bring to the day, and with visual ideas swapped and posted over Pinterest, we had the foundations of a great day set out.
It was an amazing experience working with this team of professionals, from stylists through to florists. We pulled it off and had so much fun in the process.
