Full-Time Firefighter/Paramedic – applications only from August 7 – August 29, 2016

Applicants must be Ohio-certified paramedics with a Level II Ohio Firefighting Certificate at the time of appointment. Students nearing completion of the certification process are encouraged to apply. Applicants must be high school graduates (or GED), demonstrate good character and health, be at least 18 years of age but no older than 35 at time of hire and be physically capable of performing all essential functions of the position. Background checks will include character, mental/physical health, psychological testing and polygraph.

During the probationary period of one year, the salary is $49,212.80. The contract then begins at $55,890.71 with annual step increases up to $66,881.57 in 72 months. Benefits include: paid vacation, holiday, sick and injury leaves; comprehensive healthcare insurance plan; life insurance; and City pays all but 0.75% or three quarters (3/4) of one percent of the employee’s portion of the state pension premium after 5 years of service.

Once you have completed the online application, go to www.nationaltestingnetwork.com, sselect “Find Jobs” tab, then “Firefighter Jobs”, then select the City of Moraine’s posting. The fee for the exam is $50.00 and can be paid on the National Testing Network, Inc. website. The Personal History Questionnaire (PHQ) on the NTN website is required to be filled out in order to be considered for this position.

The written examination only will be conducted Thursday, August 25, 2016, and Monday, August 29, 2016, at 9:00 a.m. at Sinclair Community College, Building 20 (Automotive Lab). Doors for the exam will lock at 9:00 a.m. and no one will be allowed into the examination after that time! Valid driver’s license will be required to enter the exam.

If an applicant has taken the exam within the past six (6) months, you may transfer your scores. However, if an applicant wishes to transfer a previous test score and meets all requirements, they must complete a City application and the NTN PHQ in order to be considered for this position.

Upon completion of the entry level exam, all candidate scores will be forwarded to the Moraine Merit System Commission who will be administering the testing process. Candidates who attain a passing score on the entrance exam will be ranked according to their score and placed on the Commission’s eligibility list. The City of Moraine will contact each candidate following the exam with their overall score and ranking. National Testing Network is a service provided to conduct entry level testing in a standardized, professional environment. National Testing Network does not replace the City of Moraine and the Merit System Commission responsibility and decision making in the testing process.

Applicants considered for further processing will undergo interviews, criminal background and reference checks, medical exam, drug screen, psychological test, and polygraph exam.

**Additional points will be awarded to applicants who attain a passing examination score and have a Bachelor’s degree in Fire or EMS from an accredited college or university or have been honorably discharge from the military. Documents must be attached to the application in order to receive additional points.

Failure to complete all of the steps listed above will result in a disqualification from the hiring process.

Important Items:

• You must bring a picture ID

• Free parking will be available at the exam location

• Please leave all cell phones in your vehicle…no cell phones will be allowed inside the testing center

• No food or drinks will be allowed in the testing center

• All testing supplies, including pencils, will be provided

• The test will be completed by 12:00 noon

Part-Time Sports and Fitness Supervisor – until August 22, 2016

The Parks and Recreation Division is searching for a Part-Time Sports and Fitness Supervisor. Applicants must be able to: plan/implement sports and wellness programs; work with individuals who are of varying ages and abilities; be independent and self-motivated. High School Diploma or GED. A Fitness or Coaching Instructor Certification (ACE, NYSCA, or ACSM) with one or more years of fitness/sports experience preferred. Candidate is expected to obtain/complete any certification requirements within 24 months of employment. Evenings and weekends are required.

Salary range is $ $9.95 to $13.61 per hour depending on experience.
