Christian Producer LaVonda Rouse Creates New Inspirational Talk Show
Film and TV producer, LaVonda Rouse, has created a new online talk show aimed to focus on the whole woman.

Set to premiere Oct. 3rd, The Blend is designed to feed viewers food for the spirit, mind, and body.

I had the opportunity to talk with Rouse last week, who shared that she created ‘The Blend’  to heal the mind, body and spirit.  And she wanted to do it with an entire cast of Black women who are experts in their field.

“American culture has conditioned us to receive information from everyone but black women,” Rouse shared.

The cast includes psychologist, Dr. Gloria A. Chance , motivational speaker and author, Jewel Diamond Taylor, Dr. Tabatha Carr, ND, and psychology professor, speaker, writer, and 2017 TEDx speaker, Dr. Peace Amadi.

So, how did The Blend come about?, Rouse had a health issue and needed surgery.  She wanted an African American woman doctor, and that’s when she saw the need.

“The Blend was The Lady Doctors. I came up with the idea because I had a serious health issue, and  I prayed: “Lord I want an African American woman doctor to perform my surgery.” I realized that many women wanted a physician with that cultural competency I was seeking. That’s when I knew I needed to create a show with a format that was a mix between The Doctors and The View, but with black women doctors as hosts so they could expertly deal with issues germane to us.   In 2016, I shot the pilot, and in 2018 changed the name to The Blend, for the mix of spirit, mind and body, Rouse shared.
