Canoa Quebrada in Brazil is an Amazing Beach That You Need to Visit

Canoa Quebrada in Brazil is an old, small town installed on cliffs that was discovered and popularized by the hippies in the sixties. In Canoa Quebrada beach the transparent water is surrounded by huge multicolored dunes.
From the summit of the dunes, you could see what the locals call “the magical sunset” or, on the night of the full moon, the sea, a silver mirror where you can see the moon dancing on the ocean.

The nature of this beach is fragile, and therefore special attention should be paid to the dunes and cliffs and any construction on the beach is permitted only after a thorough study and considering that the destruction of vegetation is prohibited.

This beach is located in a protected area that was created in 1998 to protect the area and all the natural attractions as well as local flora and fauna.

Kitesurfing is one of the main activities in Canoa Quebrada in Brazil. This beach has winds of 20-30 knots blowing sideways. The month of highest wind speed is December.

There are many walks to do in Canoa Quebrada and usually the most important of them going around the dunes to the beach, and there you can visit the Villa de Esteves, a small fishing village that remains exactly the same as 50 years ago.

The beach has a good infrastructure, and in recent years has had a great development, but it is still advisable to book accommodation before the arrival.
As usual happens in this kind of beaches, there are no big hotels like other best beaches in Brazil, but have excellent lodges as mentioned above.

The Canoa Quebrada beach is located 164 kilometers from Fortaleza. The nearest airport is Pinto Martins in Fortaleza, capital of Ceara state of Brazil. This airport has domestic flights daily coming mainly from the following airlines: Gol, Tam and Varig.

It is best to take a flight to Rio de Janeiro and from there go by road to Canoa Quebrada.
In Canoa Quebrada, Brazil, the temperature is always good (between 24 and 30 degrees), and the refreshing wind is the most enjoyable thing for visitors.
