Can the Proud Abandon Themselves to the Father’s Providence?

The question was asked, “Can the proud truly abandon themselves to the providence of God the Father?” The answer, albeit brief and contrary to popular opinion, is “yes.” The proud in themselves cannot abandon themselves to the Father’s providence, because humility is needed to do so and pride is the direct opposite of humility. But if one or more persons are willing to pray, beg God and suffer for the proud, the latter will be given the grace of humility and then become humble enough to approach and depend on Him, abandoning themselves to His providence.
