Cage The Elephant’s Daniel Tichenor Shares a Playlist of His Favorites

Around here, the countdown to May 16 and 17 has be grueling to say the least. Why, you ask? Because that’s when Cage the Elephant graces our city with two performances at Central Park’s Summerstage. We’re no strangers to the band’s high-intensity, high-spontaneity, high-everything live shows, but each time is a bit different. Whether it’s climbing on rafters, crowd surfing, or simply dripping every ounce of energy they have onto the stage, Cage the Elephant sets the standard for pretty much every rock show we see.

To celebrate that our wait is almost over, we asked bassist Daniel Tichenor to make a playlist of some of his and the band’s favorite tracks. The resulting collection falls right in line with what you’d hope to hear — some of the best songs from some of the most compelling artists over the last several decades. It’s no wonder that Cage hold themselves to high performance standards — they’ve clearly been taking cues from the best!
