Burger Moe's... One of the Best Outdoor Patios in Downtown St. Paul

By Homesmsp @HomesMSP

St. Paul's West 7th Street, just down the street from Xcel Energy Center and around the corner from the Science Museum of Minnesota has long been a bustling restaurant-bar-pub commercial strip near the Mississippi River with a few antiques stores thrown into the mix.

Burger Moe's was new to this neighborhood a couple years ago... a family friendly restaurant with an awesome patio much bigger than you would think at first glance... across the street from the Downtowner Woodfire Grill, also owned by Moe Shariff. Both restaurants share a free parking lot, a real plus in this busy neighborhood.

We stopped at Burger Moe's for the first time last week on a quiet Monday afternoon and were pleasantly surprised. As their name implies burgers are their specialty, with 20 varieties on their menu... plus an extensive beer list with about 60 on tap including local brews plus bottled varieties as well. For those who don't want a burger they also have salads, dogs, un-burgers and a kid's menu.

I ordered Tuscan Fries to go with my burger... tossed in olive oil and sprinkled with garlic, feta and parmesan cheese... they were delicious. Didn't have room for a shake, which I may try next time.

I liked their open air concept, with a big open 'window' joining the patio to create a great open feeling perfect for an idyllic day that is neither too hot nor too cold.

This is another restaurant with a fresh and local focus. They use fresh, local meats ground fresh daily... 100% Certified Black Angus beef has been humanely raised, grass-fed and is hormone free. They buy locally, with buns baked fresh daily at St. Paul's PJ Murphy’s Bakery... produce is purchased at NaturaFarms in Marine on the St. Croix.

West Seventh Street is not just a great place to walk to get something to eat when you are attending an event at the Xcel Center. It it also a great walkable neighborhood near some very cool places to live... check out St. Paul historic homes for sale and St. Paul riverfront condos for sale.
