REVIEW

I’m a huge fan of The Mortal Instruments series. I own the full set. I’ve now read them all.

I loved City of Heavenly Fire and thought it was a great way to end the series. The final installment is exactly what I expected – huge battles, great loss, good triumphs over evil and all that. I enjoyed the way the author drew together everything that had happened in the previous five novels together for a final big bang. City of Heavenly Fire had a lot of sad moments. Some of my favorite bits were when the Seelie Queen of the fairies betrays the Shadowhunters and joins forces with Sebastian and his band of evil Shadowhunters, when Simon sacrifices his immortality so everyone can be allowed to leave the demon realm with a little help for Magnus Bane’s father (a prince of hell – OMG – I had no idea) and the moment when Clary kills Sebastian – well done! I enjoyed every page of City of Heavenly Fire. I will read the prequel series, The Infernal Devices and the sequel series, The Dark Artifices and The Bane Chronicles at some point. Top book.
