This was my first time reading Stieg Larsson.
I loved The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. I get what all the fuss is about. This is one of the best thrillers I’ve read in ages. The characters were excellent. Lisbeth was my favorite. She’s one of the best fictional characters I’ve read in ages. I found her fascinating. I loved reading about the investigation into Harriet’s disappearance and the dark secrets this finally revealed. Larsson does a great job of balancing both plots running through The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. Larsson uses a lot of detail in his writing and goes into minute detail about everything. In some ways this shouldn’t work and the novel should be dense and over-written. However, Larsson manages to pull it off and every sentence is perfect. I look forward to reading The Girl Who Played With Fire, the second book in the trilogy.
