BEST IN HOBOKEN: A Little Bit of Yum Moves to Grand Street
I have been on the keto diet for two weeks. I decided to take the weekend off, and I am SO happy I did. On my way to Hoboken for a "new home" soiree, I spotted Dolce & Salato Pasticceria + Cafe on the corner, and my stomach said FEED ME.
Set to open tomorrow, August 6 (Monday), Lanibelle and I pressed our sad little noses up against the glass windows and LUCKY US...not only did the kind owners let us in, they also supplied us with drool-worthy samples. The chocolate cream puff was so good, I literally couldn't share it. LITERALLY...I am a gluttonous animal and I don't feel bad about it.
To say I am a tough critic of Italian delights, is an understatement. Not only do I hail from a part Italian household, I grew up privy to the BEST of the best (in terms of pastry). My mother always said, "...you never go to someone's house empty handed" and a stop to a famous bakery was always made (insert box of cannoli & sfogliatelle).
Had I known I could bring delicious delights from Dolce & Salato to the party I was attending, I would have ditched the platter of meatballs I made and replaced it with a box of lobster claws & almond cookies.
If you are looking for a divine dessert experience, look no further than 11th Street and Grand Street in Hoboken, NJ. If you don't have a sweet tooth - well, there might be something VERY wrong with you. But if that is the case, this corner cafe has other offerings that include: Light bites - panini - gelato and a bevy of beverages (including a Taormina that will make your heart melt...you know how I feel about Nutella being a food group).
There is a little bit for everyone - charming to both kids and adults. Grab a seat outside and transport yourself to your own little piece of Italy - on Grande Strada. DELIZIOSO!
