The bride-to-be shared with us: “Maalik and I initially met through mutual friends at a performance event. We were 18 at the time. Later that night, at a friend’s house, we continued to talk a little more. I recall him being one of the few people that I talked too all night. Although he was funny and cute, we didn’t connect right away so I friend-zoned him. However, he liked me a lot, so he was very persistent. He consistently checked on me and asked how I was doing. We even went on a few more dates (he wouldn’t give up) and as time went on we got closer. We talked everyday and went on dates every week. I remember we went to the movies and that night he asked me to be his girlfriend. We became a couple on April 23, 2010.”

“We were on vacation in Puerto Vallerta, Mexico. We arrived on Monday January 22, 2018. He told me that he booked us a private beach dinner for the next night (Jan 23rd). I didn’t think anything of it because we’ve had private beach dinner before. That might when we got to the lobby, the receptionist greeted us and started to walk us to the beach. As we were walking, she introduced us to the photographer. Maalik then tells me that he booked one for our dinner. As we made our way to the beach, there was a white walkway covered in rose petals and surrounded by tiki torches. The waiter greeted us and walked us to our table. The table was beautiful. It was covered in rose petals with a beautiful bouquet of flowers. I remember thinking “wow this is beautiful”. Before I sat down, Maalik tells me we are going to take pictures. As I started to walk over, he wasn’t following me, so I asked him were we both taking pictures?! He says yes, so I start to walk over to the area, still a little confused because he didn’t follow me. As I was standing there, I hear him talking to the waiter. He asks the waiter to record with his phone, but the waiter didn’t understand him. So, he says “video” and at that moment my heart dropped! I was standing there thinking “omg, omg, omg, he’s going to propose!” He walks over with a smile on his face, so nervous. He tells me how much he loves me then gets down on one knee and asks me to marry him! and of course I said Yes! Our destination wedding will take place in Cancun, Mexico on April 29,2019!”

“The photoshoot took place in Santorini, Greece. It was an amazing experience! We were nervous at first because we have never done a shoot before but our photographer, Maxos Kapetanakis from Kapetanakis Studios assured us everything would be perfect! He made us very comfortable and was excellent with posing! We love to travel and wanted an amazing backdrop in our photos, so Santorini was an easy choice! The most beautiful moments of our shoot were towards the end when we were being ourselves! We were laughing and giggling with each other the whole time! From me, walking towards him on the roof, with his him ready to catch me because I was so nervous and the moment of us popping the champagne and toasting to the beautiful future that we will have together! It was all amazing and we are so happy and blessed that we were able to have that experience. Everything was perfect!
