The BBC Good Food Show Team as well as Glasgow food bloggers (including us!) checked out the nominations in Glasgow to search for the city’s Best Independent Food Shop.
It was hard task, each nominee had a vast array of goods on sale, with excellent quality and produce knowledge. After a busy week of mystery shopping for us, we gave our feedback to the other judges who would collate the information and decide on Glasgow’s Best Independent Food Shop.
Roots Fruits and Flowers offers a well-priced range of high quality international and local produce. The Delicatessen provides freshly made, in store food with an ever changing seasonal menu. It uses the best ingredients from their Wholefoods & Organic and Fruit & Vegetable Merchants to produce a large selection of the freshest hot and cold dishes.

Roots Fruits and Flowers were a standout entry due to their fantastic range of goods and buzzing atmosphere. The judges were so impressed with the visit – the shop looked lovely and the staff were fantastically helpful. I’m sure this will be a really beautiful, popular stand with visitors at the Show!”
The Winner receives a stand at the BBC Good Food Show Scotland at the SECC from 6 – 8 November, publicising their business to thousands of food loving visitors.
