The ZenFone Selfie series of ASUS has mid-range smartphones targetting young selfie lovers. Moving forward in this line, ASUS today launched three new selfie smartphones. These are ZenFone 4 Selfie Pro, ZenFone 4 Selfie (dual camera version), and ZenFone 4 Selfie.
Overall, these devices sound like a good package of specifications and features. They are reasonably priced and will be available exclusively on Flipkart, starting from 21st September.
All three phones focus on providing better selfies. They run on Android Nougat and will upgrade to Android Oreo. For User Interface, they have brand new ZenUI 4.0 which is less bloated and claims to be faster. They have less pre-installed apps than previous ZenFones. And they have the TwinApps feature which allows users to run two accounts on popular apps like Facebook, WhatsApp etc. Like other ZenFones, they also have Mobile Manager, Auto Start Manager, Gesture and Motion commands etc. These are excellent features that help in optimized performance and better user experience. They also have the SOS feature for emergency alerts. All three ZenFone 4 Selfie devices have fingerprint sensor on the front. They also have Blue Light Filter which helps in eye care.
Camera:
Camera has always been one of the highlights of ZenFones. It is even more important in ZenFone Selfie series phones. The highlight of ZenFone 4 Selfie Pro and ZenFone 4 Selfie dual camera version is that they have dual selfie camera and provide wider angle selfies (120 degree). So you can cover a greater area in your selfie, without a selfie stick. ZenFone 4 Selfie has Selfie Panorama mode for wider selfies (140 degrees). ZenFone 4 Selfie Pro is world's first smartphone with 4k video recording by rear, as well as front camera. All three smartphones have Live beautification feature. Appearance:
All three ZenFone 4 Selfie smartphones have a good combination of specifications and features. They will run smoothly and give good user experience. However, to me they have nothing special to boast about in terms of looks. All three smartphones look the same. They have fingerprint scanner on the front. The edges are rounded. They are slim and light weight. But, they look very ordinary, and even a little outdated.
