Posted on the 28 August 2019 by Themoviean

National Award-winning music director, lyricist and singer, Anupam Roy brings the 10th episode, the season finale of Oriplast Originals to you, the Bengali, to connect you to your roots.

Oriplast Originals is an attempt to take regional music to the spotlight of the global stage.

The title of the song - Agomonir Gaan bestowed to this creation of Anupam Roy means "calling someone home". The distinctive factor about the track is the chorus being sung by children - which was never utilised before in a song or in a performance by Roy. The innocence and purity that exude from a child's voice is beautifully implemented with the overall production of the music video.

Anupam Roy has dedicated the song to all Bengalis, even the ones residing worldwide who are deprived of the essence of celebrating Durga Puja with their families and friends. He decided to put himself in their shoes to churn out a song which would reverberate to them - a song denoting a longing, an absence and a soulful love. He incorporated his own soundtrack ' and a popular mesmerising Rabindra Sangeet 'Gram Chhara' in Agomonir Gaan.

Unlike the other tracks of Oriplast Originals, Anupam Roy has himself written, sung and composed this song. He retorted, "I am a big supporter of independent music and have sung a few singles for SVF Music before, however, the concept of Oriplast Originals blew me away. The idea of bringing hot music in our audience's playlists, coming from a regional music front, is exhilarating to me. I wrote and composed Agomonir Gaan in a night because of the support being shown to me by the SVF Music team, who insisted that I should be a part of this 10-episode series, and I am glad I could deliver a promising and fulfilling song to their repertoire."

Spearheaded by SVF and Ori-Plast Limited, Oriplast Originals is the biggest Bengali music collaboration with 16 artistes from all over India along with 7 composers. These two leading companies, in their own sectors, have joined hands to create Bengal's first branded original content bringing forth 10 songs in Season 1 to pipe hot music into our playlists.

Oriplast Originals is currently streaming songs featuring Papon, Shaan, Sona Mohapatra, Javed Ali, Ash King, Akriti Kakar, Shalmali Kholgade, Nikhita Gandhi, Bhoomi Trivedi, Dev Negi among others. Visualised in studio format, the songs keep Bengali music in the foreground and, also derives inspiration from other parts of lndia like Assam, Odisha, Himachal Pradesh and Rajasthan.

The first season (with 10 episodes) is streaming now on SVF Music.
