Story: Anatomy of A Fall starts when Sandra Voyter (Huller) is conducting an interview. However, in the aftermath of the interview, her husband dies suddenly, and an investigation believes his death is suspicious.
This leads to a court case where Sandra is questioned about her relationship with Samuel. Whether it has become strained and whether she could have committed the crime. The only other witness is their half-blind son Daniel (Machado-Graner) who isn’t sure what he heard.
Verdict on Anatomy of A Fall
Anatomy of A Fall is a drama thriller following the investigation and court case surrounding a death. It starts by looking like a suicide, but a couple of things don’t add up, leading to the victim’s wife becoming the prime suspect. The only person who can give the most evidence is the son of the couple, but even his evidence is harder to navigate.
This movie examines a death which could have been murder but could have been suicide. It creates an element of doubt which could easily swing both ways. The courtroom scenes present plenty of mystery and the only witness not seeing, only hearing questions their judgment. It all offers up an interesting dynamic as to what the truth could be and leaves us wanting to put the puzzle pieces together ourselves.
