A Pumpkin and Floral Tablescape for the Holidays - Style Swap Tuesdays

By Saumya Shiohare @myriadmusings1
I am not a person who would buy black dinnerware but there was something about this Daphne high shine floral dinnerware, that I couldn't just pass it. I bought the dinner plate, the salad plate both plain and printed and a couple of soup bowls. The theme for my tablescape kind of originated from this dinnerware. I was aiming to get some glitz and glam with a dash of traditional in my tablescape for the holidays this year.
The theme and color scheme is the hardest part of a tablescape, but once that has been locked in everything else just pans out. Since my theme was inspired from the floral design and high shine of the dinnerware, I had to add as much sparkle and shine as I could.
THE FLORAL ARRANGEMENT
For the centerpiece, I picked out a bunch of peonies in shades of pink, some fresh tulips in a bright orange and a handful of Eucalyptus stems from my local Whole Foods. I could have spray painted the Eucalyptus copper for an extra pizzazz, but I didn't want to cover it's fresh smell with the odor of the paint. So, I skipped it.

THE CENTERPIECE  I bought a faux eucalyptus garland that doubles up both as a table runner and a wall decor. It is such a good quality for the price. Those pumpkins that you see are just a bunch of plastic pumpkins that I painted a mix of navy and hunter green and jazzed up with some gold glitter power while the paint was still wet. The plastic pumpkins were not a part of the initial plan, but when someone goes to the store in search of pumpkins post halloween, empty shelves is what you get. Totally unforeseen and uncalled for, glad I at least had these plastic ones from a few years ago that I was able to paint to match the theme. Trust me, it is a dark green shade, but it pictures black for some reason. I added some pine cones and white faux lotus flowers for that extra glitzy element.
THE PLATE SETTING  The classic-casual order in which the plates are placed is charger first ( I swapped out mine for these gold placemats), then dinnerplate, then salad plate, then bowl ( if using one), otherwise the napkin tops it off. To the right of this plate-setting goes the knife, then the fork on the extreme right. To the left of this setup goes the dinner spoons. I tri-folded the napkin and placed them under the salad plate. boughtthese blush gold-rimmed coupes which made a good addition to this setup. I hope you recreate this super simple glitzy floral tablescape for the Holidays. I had a blast setting this up and can't wait to share some food and drink ideas for your next Holiday party.
