A New Era Of Wedding Dresses – Bridal Couture

a new era of wedding dresses

It must be exciting to be a bride-to-be in 2014. Especially since bridal fashion dos and don’ts have changed so much over the last couple of years. Bridal gowns are fitted to the bride instead of the bride submitting to the dress. Eccentric brides are often bullied into a traditional white, A-Line wedding dress against their own fashion sense. No more! Bridal couture and new age wedding gown designs have brides everywhere stepping out of their “bridal boxes.” What a refreshing way to start the rest of your life, I must say…

Liking the bridal pictures in this post?  These gorgeous couture dresses are from Georges Hobeika 2014 Wedding collection. Hobeika has been a desinger for 20+ years. Client list includes Jennifer Lopez, Anna Kendrick, Eva Longoria and Diane Kruger.

its all about bridal couture

The rise of “coutourism” as I like to call it – the act of living and breathing couture fashion – has also bubbled over into bridal fashion. Bridal couture brings back the ‘grand’ to the wedding gown: Balloon dresses, Fishtail dresses, fairy tale dresses. Yes. The dresses our mothers {and maybe grandmothers} wore during their weddings. And they don’t hold back of the glitz and glam. There was a period when wedding dresses were a bit “watered down.” Not anymore! They’re back to being a one-dress-production.

don’t forget the secret sauce

Let’s not forget the gravy {or secret sauce} – wedding accessories. They are the finishing touches that can make or break the perfect gown. The models here are wearing hair accessories to compliment the wedding gowns. These accessories include underwear and petticoats as well as wedding tiaras and headbands. Subtle but stunning headpiece being most favorable among the new age brides.
