Year 2015 has just started and really eyeing for a more memorable trips all throughout the year. To start off my journey, this Janaury, together with my seven craziest friends, we spent a lavish weekend staycation in a world class private beach resort community, called Hamilo Coast. The resort is a sprawling seaside sanctuary located at the head of the Nasugbu coastline which is just a 90 minutes away from Manila through Ternate – Nasugbu Road.
Hamilo Coast is an expansive 5,900 hectare property with 13 coves, a 31 kilometer coastline, rich marine life and abundant flora and fauna. One of the properties of Hamilo Coast is Pico de Loro Cove which is a 40-hectare “Residential Resort Village” and is the first development in the “Premier Sustainable Coastal Resort Town” of Hamilo Coast. Pico de Loro Cove is one of several marine protected areas in Hamilo Coast where marine life is preserved and enhanced in partnership with the World Wide Fund (WWF) for Nature Philippines since 2007. As we entered to the vast property, I really feel that our weekend staycation is going to be a great experience and a lot of fun.
Pico Sands Hotel
It was late afternoon when we arrived at the Pico Sands Hotel, a tropical contemporary seven – storey hotel with 154 spacious guest rooms amidst the stunning backdrop of the mountains and the serene lagoon. The hotel provides accommodations primarily for the members of the Pico de Loro Beach & Country Club and their endorsed guestsA warm welcome was given to us by the friendly staff and immediately assisted us to the reception where checking - in is efficient. The reception area gave us the impression of opulence; the palette used is so cool to the eyes and brought up an ambiance of peacefulness.
Snacks at Pico Restaurant and Bar
Right after we placed our belongings and checked the rooms, we proceeded to Pico Restaurant and Bar for a snacks. Just when we thought it’s gonna be a very lite snacks, it turned out a full regular meal for us. Since the restaurant specializes in Mediterranean cuisine, we had a pasta and pizza, all were mouth-watering and really delicious.

Since sunset was near, we headed to the St. Therese of the Child Jesus Chapel to witness the most picturesque sunset that happens everyday. The chapel is perched on a hill with the view of the coastline. Numbers of wedding ceremonies were held here for the place is really romantic and intimate.
Then we headed to Beach Club which offers an extensive range of outdoor and indoor sports, leisure and recreational activities. Members and accompanied guests have access to the facilities located at the Beach Club: Sun Coral Café, Arribada Lounge, Brisa Bar, Reef Bar, Kultura Butik, Swimming Pool, 1.5 km white sand beach.

Dinner at Reef Bar and Grill
Tummies haven’t recovered yet from our delectable snacks, and it was like just 2 – 3 hours ago, but it’s already dinner time. Our group had our dinner at Reef Bar and Grill where everything is grilled. We can’t resist those appealing food that were served. Cold breeze and lanterns added a pretty dreamy vibes.
Meanwhile, Country club has amenities such: Swimming Pools, B&B Bowling and Billiards, Club Pico – Playground for kids, Basketball court, badminton courts, Squash Court, Tennis Court, Videogame Room, Music Room, Fitness Center, Grab n Go Convenience Store and Baia Ballroom. Beach & Country Club means lifetime access to the best of land and sea, all in one convenient location.
Pico de Loro Cove Condos

Moreover, residents now have an easy way for it is just 90 minutes drive by Ternate – Nasugbu Road. Making it as their weekend home where they can spend a beach life experience.The four residential clusters of Pico de Loro Cove are named after birds that can abundantly be found at the cove: Myna, Jacana, Carola, and Miranda.
The following morning, we woke up around 8:00 to catch the breakfast buffet at Lagoa, a restaurant located at the Country Club. Friends who have been here bragged about the breakfast. Truly, the fusion of Asian and Western cuisine was really good. Dining outside the restaurant with the overlooking of the infinity swimming pool added an overwhelming treat. I couldn't wait to finish my food to dip in the pool.
After satisfying plunge in the country Club pool, we roamed around the lagoon area, had a quick shoot and went straight to Sun Coral Cafe for have our lunch. Our group had a feast over these delicious Filipino food made specially for the members of the club. Suggested to the group to have kare-kare and it didn't fail us, so flavorful.
Our weekend staycation at Pico de Loro is a total fun filled experience, couldn't imagine a luxury residential resort village is within almost an hour reach. Indeed, it was really stress-free leisure activity and quality bonding time with friends.
