A Beautiful Recycled Hertfordshire Home

By Moralfibres @moralfibres

I love a good virtual snoop around other peoples houses.  I stumbled upon this beautiful Victorian terraced house in Hertfordshire, on the House to Home website and fell in love with how the owners have cleverly repurposed old materials and furniture to really stunning and unique effect.

For the kitchen the owners repurposed the original floorboards and fruit crates to make the doors, and used reclaimed shelving to maximise their storage.

The crate theme continues in the living room.  The owners couldn’t find a large sofa that they liked, so they made the sofa’s wooden base from salvaged fruit crates, and then added their own cushions.

The mirror frame was made from a door frame found in a salvage yard.

And the bathroom echoes the rest of the house, with this custom rustic vanity unit.

What do you think?  Is it to your taste?  Would you consider making your own sofa?
