Visiting Old Trafford, Manchester in 2005 watching Northern Ireland.

Manchester is the second biggest city in England – famous for its urban lifestyle and happening nightlife. But the city of Manchester is much more than pomp and show and booze – a place of great historical and cultural importance. It is also home to two greatest football clubs in the world – Manchester United and Manchester City, and the world’s first inter-city passenger railway station was built here. From large music venues to fantastic street food, Manchester has it all.

Here is a list of some of the best things you can do in this beautiful English city.

1.Visit Old Trafford – Probably more than a dream for every football fan on earth, Old Trafford is a place to go for everyone who visits Manchester. It is the home ground of Manchester United Football Club – you can experience the club museum and the training ground. Also known as the ‘Theatre of Dreams’, it is a stadium full of history dating back to 1910. If you have the time and in a position to spend some money, watch a game of football at Old Trafford – it’s an experience of a lifetime.

Once you’ve satiated your appetite for football, why not try some of the restaurants that serve the best lobster in the entire city – Hawksmoor Manchester is my favorite amongst the lot.
