6lack Performs His Version Of An Erykah Badu Track
On Friday, 6lack joined Australian radio station triple j for its Like a Version series to perform Erykah Badu’s 1996 classic track, “On & On.” The singer made the song his own and performed his smooth interpretation of the sultry song, showing just how talented he is. This comes only a few days after the BET Hip Hip Awards where the R&B singers impressed everyone with his cypher, doing better than a lot of people who actually label themselves rappers.
It seems like Erykah was a fan of the tribute, too–she gave the singer a call on FaceTime and they discussed the personal experience behind Erykah for 6lack. He explains that he was seeing Badu live in concert when his daughter was born, and was listening to her birth on the phone during her festival set.
