Keep on walking through to the back of the iconic Savoy Hotel, London and you will find Kasper’s Seafood Bar and Grill– a fresh, crisp, high quality brasserie completely void of all the stuffiness you might expect of a hotel of this caliber.

If you want a special place to go in London then I would recommend trying out Kasper’s Seafood Bar and Grill at The Savoy. You don’t need to book,  especially if you are prepared to sit at the bar area – the best choice in my opinion.

So here are 5 things that I found myself doing at Kasper’s Seafood and Grill for Sunday Lunch. I did not sample the seafood however but you can see the menu here to see what’s  on offer.

One

Ask for a table at the bar. In the middle of the restaurant you will find a wonderful marble clad bar area. You will be able to watch seafood platters been made and the odd knife being sharpened.

Two

Enjoy second to none service. You will have excellent service without being too intrusive. The staff at Kasper’s are polite, gentile and will do everything to make your experience as pleasurable as possible. They even asked if I would like a newspaper to read – I declined as I thought asking for The Daily Mail might lower the tone somewhat. The first to arrive was some delicious bread and butter.

Three

Order Beef Bourgninon. This is served in a mini piping hot white Le Crueset dish. On the side was a stylish mini steel pan with very creamy buttered mashed potatoes. The quality of the food is superb. The sauces are rich and tasty with just the right amount of seasoning. The house Riojca wine was excellent and complimented the beef perfectly.

Four

Listen to the faint piano playing in the background playing the best of London theatre tunes (Les Miserables etc – you get the idea). The live pianist was playing in the lounge  of The Thames Foyer at the heart of The Savoy.

Five

Just before your pay enjoy a final treat – a huge globe like truffle on a sturdy wooden skewer – completely unexpected.
