As my readers already know, I am an avid watcher of Asian dramas, so am used to watching shows with subtitles. But if you are not, then at least you can try occasionally because some international movies on Netflix are worth it.
I am a Rom-Com (romantic comedy) lady and the below list includes movies from this genre. I have watched movies from different countries and liked them. Not only do I get to enjoy the story, but also get to know their culture, food & lifestyle. How cool is that?

1) Brother in Love – 2019

- Genre: Comedy
- Synopsis: A robbery leaves a proprietor penniless before his love marriage, and the only solution to save his wedding is to become a fake son-in-law to another family.
Turkish cinema has some of the best romantic comedies to offer. If you love watching such movies, then first stream Turkish comedy movies on Netflix as they never fail to tickle our funny bones.

I watched Brother in Love movie with my husband and we both had a good time. It has a simple story but is very entertaining with witty humor.
This movie is infused with hijinks and hilarity that make you laugh & smile uncontrollably.
The male lead character is meek & docile, gullible & naive, due to which he is always in trouble. His acting is splendid and natural which makes you smile throughout.
The other supporting characters are also funny and you will enjoy every moment of it.
After finishing this movie, I was glad to know that it has a second part because I was craving more from the characters.
2) Brother in Love Part 2 – 2021
The second part is also entertaining and has funny scenarios with a stellar performance by the actors.
If you are feeling bogged down by your daily routine, then just tune in to watch this movie and make the gloom go away.
It is one of the funny international movies on Netflix.
3) Spoiled Brats – 2021

- Genre: Comedy
- Synopsis: A millionaire wants to teach a lesson to his 3 spoiled brats (children) about the importance of life and money. Hence he pretends that the family has become bankrupt and now they need to earn to survive.
After reading the synopsis, I knew the movie will be clichéd and it was, still worth the watch. It has some rib-tickling comedies with emotional elements.
The wonderful cast will make you laugh with their innocent madness and some family drama.

4) In Family I trust – 2019
- Country: Spain
- Genre: Romantic Comedy, Family drama
- Synopsis: A diligent architect returns to her hometown to reassess her life with the help of her eccentric family after her boyfriend cheats on her.
A light-hearted feel-good family movie (hmm maybe not for family as it contains few explicit scenes)
The female lead returns to her family residing in the beautiful countryside of Spain. It will make you feel connected with your family and siblings.

5) Airplane Mode – 2020
- Country: Brazil
- Genre: Comedy
- Synopsis: When a social media influencer crashes her car while using her cellphone, she gets a punishment from a local police department to go into a digital detox and therefore she is forced to live with his grumpy grandfather’s farm away from the city and off the grid.
This movie is dubbed in English on Netflix.
When I read the synopsis, I was like Woohoo! This is my kind of movie as am a social media influencer and it would be so much fun to know what this movie has to offer.
Although it’s clichéd, I enjoyed the story about Ana, who is so engulfed in social media that she misses out on the real things and the real people around her.
So when she has to go into digital detox and live with her grandpa on his farm, it becomes a nightmare for her, and she suffers from social media withdrawal symptoms which is hilarious yet thought-provoking.
However, gradually she starts appreciating the wonderful things in real life unlike before when her world revolved only around the digital world.
If you are someone who is a social media addict or an influencer like me, then this movie is for you. Go watch and laugh out your worries.
