30 Days of Blogging (D.I.Y. and Paper Tips) Day Sixteen: Glitter Stock (1 of 2)
Its Day 16 and I'm feeling all sparkly! Bling. Sparkle. Glitter. They add "pop" to an event and its making a comeback. There are a number of ways you can add glitter to your projects. So many I need to break this one up into two installments. Let's get into it...
Glitter F.A.Q.
What are some ways I can add glitter to my projects?
Some of the basic ways are through glitter ribbon, glitter paper and loose glitter.

How is glitter paper sold?
I've only seen it come in 12" x 12" sheets... If you are doing a large project, I would recommend searching online for it (Amazon has some nice deals, and so does Ebay). You can find them in craft stores, but the per sheet price is cost prohibitive if you need a lot.
Is it messy?
This glitter paper brand from Announcement Converters was fine. I was concerned about my printer trimming the stock, but they had no issues. When you trim it yourself, if using an exacto blade, yes, there will be some debris. But nothing along the lines of what you see with loose glitter. Loose glitter obviously will need to be managed because of how fine the material is.
Where can I get it?
The best deal that I have found on glitter card stock has been through Announcement Converters. You need a wholesale account/reseller id in order to get the pricing. Glitter ribbon has become more popular and you should be able to find this at your local ribbon retailer. Same with loose glitter.
Do I need a special adhesive?
Book binding/PVA glue is the best for this. Spray mount as well. Glue sticks and double-sided tape are too weak for it though...

(Glitter Idea #1)
Adding glitter layers under place cards and invitation panels always makes them pop, and adds flair and excitement to your stationery....

Tip: I had the glitter panels underneath trimmed by the printer... The texture of this stock is too rough to try to cut on your own if mounting behind another perfectly trimmed square.

Tip: You can take your accent of glitter to a new level by coupling it with a rhinestone flat back or buckle

(Glitter Idea #2)
Use an envelope liner guide to create custom glitter liners for your envelopes...

Tip: Because this liner has a larger footprint, its ok to drag an exacto blade over these if you like... I trimmed the rounded edge at the top with scissors. Liner affixed with book binding/PVA glue.

(Glitter Idea #3)
Utilize an elegant punch and back it up with a chunk of glitter!

Tip: Elegant punches look even better with a glitter background! Add a punch anywhere, to your invite pocket to your foldover cards and add glitter behind it. Very subtle and elegant pop of sparkle!

That's it for today... Even MORE glitter options for your stationery tomorrow!
Have great days! --ct
