3 Ways to Incorporate Daily Positivity Into Your Life

By Alyssa Martinez @ItsMariaAlyssa

We all have those days. Those days when nothing seems to go right and we find ourselves trapped in an endless cycle of negativity, which compounds on itself and makes positivity feel impossible.

Now, there's nothing wrong with having an off day every now and then. You shouldn't expect yourself to feel great all the time. However, if you find that you're struggling more often than not, it's time to implement some daily positivity into your life.

And listed below are 3 ways to do just that. By making small changes in your day-to-day life and using daily positive affirmations, you'll soon begin to notice that maintaining a positive mindset is second nature.

1. Start Your Day off Right

Your morning sets the tone for your entire day. And even though a bad morning doesn't necessarily signify a bad day, you're more likely to have a good day if you start your morning on a positive note.

The first step is to ensure that you're giving yourself enough time in the morning to take care of yourself with some positive daily inspiration. You can't start your day well if you're rolling out of bed and rushing out of the door.

Give yourself at least an hour before you have to leave for the day or start your work if you work from home. In this time, do something that makes you feel centered and refreshed. This can be a quick yoga session, a good breakfast, or making a gratitude list. Whatever it is, be intentional in your approach by carving out time for it.

2. Get Some Exercise

We all know that exercise is essential in order to feel our best, but few of us get the amount that we truly need. The CDC and American Heart Association recommend a minimum of 150 minutes a week, with additional exercise bringing additional benefits.

The trick to getting the amount of exercise you need is to approach fitness in the right way. If you hate the gym, don't go! Anything that gets your body moving is the correct choice, so choose something you can look forward to.

Something as simple as a walk around the neighborhood after dinner is enough to get those feel-good chemicals flowing in your brain, boosting your mental health while you improve your fitness and get your daily dose of positivity.

3. Practice Mindfulness

It's easier said than done, but the best way to increase your daily positive thoughts is to shift your mindset. It's all too easy to fall into a negative pattern of thinking, which brings us down and makes appreciating what we have more difficult.

Changing your mindset requires vigilance and constant practice of mindfulness. When you feel yourself drifting into negative thoughts, think about three things you're grateful for instead.

It can also be helpful if you have a physical object with you to remind yourself to maintain a positive attitude. Something small but visible, such as natural stone bracelets, is a perfect choice.

Practice Daily Positivity to Improve Your Quality of Life

Life is hectic, and the world can often be a frustrating, disheartening place. The key is to place your focus on what you can control in your life and not waste time worrying about the things you can't.

And by making an effort to practice daily positivity, you'll find this a much easier task than you might have thought it would be. Taking time for yourself and your mental and physical health can truly do wonders.
