3 At-Home Skin Care Hacks for healthy and clear skin| DIY Tips

It’s never a good time for a breakout to happen, so it’s nice to have a few tricks up your sleeve to take you through the rough times. Your face says a lot about you, it’s at the center of our interactions. So whether your skin is already in trouble or you’re looking for ways to maintain it, these 3 skin care hacks will help you feel more confident in yourself.

At-Home Skincare hacks

1. Zit Zapper

Blemishes can put a damper on any occasion. When you have a pimple or acne, it can wreak havoc on your self-confidence (not all) You don’t want to take any pictures, you don’t want to hang out, and you simply don’t feel your best. But it’s nice to know that your world doesn’t have to slow down because you have a zit.

There are many creams and gels that claim to get rid of pimples fast, but they may be prescription or too expensive.

At-Home Skincare hacks- 1

One of the simplest and effective things you can do is garlic. Take one clove of garlic and slice it. If you cook with it often, make multiple slices in one clove, then take a slice and gently rub it on the pimple.  This will reduce the redness and kill the bacteria or inflammation fueling the zit.

NOTE: Do not overuse it and make sure your skin is not sensitive to garlic.

You can also mix 3 tablespoons of plain yogurt with 3 to 5 drops of lavender or tea tree essential oil. Apply it to your face and let it sit for 30 minutes before washing it off.

This will help balance your skin’s pH, eliminate bacteria, reduce inflammation and give you that Hollywood glow.

2. Exfoliate

The benefits of exfoliation can go a long way when paired with a skin care regimen that is tailored to your specific needs. The act of exfoliating will gently remove dead skin cells and brighten your complexion. It can also help reduce the appearance of scars and dark spots. Shaving the face has the benefit of not only removing the hair but also exfoliating thereby removing dead cells.

Making an exfoliating scrub is quick and easy. And the best thing about making your own is knowing exactly what’s in it.

Mixing equal parts coffee and sugar with 2 tablespoons of coconut or olive oil will rejuvenate and invigorate your skin.

Use your scrub before you bathe and store in a cool dark place up to a month. You can exfoliate twice a week.

3. Moisturize

This one is a must. When your skin is dry it’s more susceptible to damage, breakouts, and inflammation. To help your skin retain moisture, try taking shorter showers that are the coolest hot or warm you are comfortable with.

After bathing be sure to apply the moisturizer of your choice. Olive oil, organic coconut oil, cold pressed argan oil, rosehip oil and almond oil, are great moisturizers, but you can use your favorite cream or gel-based moisturizers too.

Just make sure that you apply it immediately after bathing to lock in the moisture. It can slow the signs of aging while keeping your skin smooth and supple.

There are lots of things that you can do to boost your skin care routine, but these three hacks can help you decode the secret to your normal skin and what works for you. Don’t forget to drink plenty of water and wear your sunscreen. Your skin will return your kindness.
