11 Killed, 50 Injured in Blast Near ANP Office in Karachi

KarachiKarachi: At least 11 people including a child were killed and 50 others sustained injuries in a deadly blast outside the electoral office of Awami National Party (ANP) in Mominabad area of Korangi Town.

An election corner meeting of ANP was reportedly set to begin when the blast took place. ANP’s office was completely destroyed due to the intensity of blast. Several nearby shops, houses and vehicles have also been damaged in the blast.

Dr. Azizuddin Shamezai, the elder brother of late cleric Mufti Nizamuddin Shamezai, was also among the dead.

The dead and injured have been shifted into the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital. Several injured are said to be in critical condition and death toll is feared to climb.

Six people including three real brothers were killed and scores of others injured in a deadly blast near the Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s electoral office in Nusrat Bhutto Colony of North Nazimabad Area on Thursday.
