Getting an Influenser Vox Box is always an exciting thing. But when the Vox Box contains two new YSL products, the level of excitement goes up a few notches. Originally, I was going to review the new primer and perfector in one post. But that became too confusing, long, and laborious. So I decided to separate them to make it easier on you guys and myself.

Upon my first examination, the primer reminded me of the NYX Honey Dew primer. However, after testing out the YSL Touche Eclat Blur Primer, they are very different. I do not mean that in a negative way at all.

So what does this lovely little primer claim to accomplish? The goal of this primer is right in the name. The primary function is to blur your pores so they are less noticeable. It also claims to make your foundation look more radiant and even out your skin tone. This primer has some nice ingredients that nourish the skin and keep it hydrate without making it look like a greasy hot mess. It has corn oil, apricot kernel oil, passiflora oil, and rice bran oil.
I love the texture of this primer. It is more of a gel, which allows to absorb quickly and is easy to apply. It is not the least bit thick, sticky, or goopy. YSL really hit the nail on the head with the texture.

Now for my overall review. I really like this primer, but I don't see myself purchasing it. It actually does a really great job of blurring my pores and making them seem less visible. After it dries, it feels a lot like a silicone primer, which I like because it means my skin feels less oily. My foundation applies and blends really well when I use this primer. I have tried pretty much all of my foundations with it, and all of them work well with it. I have used Maybelline Fit Me Matte, Lancome's Teint Idole Ultra, Maybelline SuperStay, Too Faced Born This Way, and Cover Girl's Stay Luminous. Things look great for the first couple of hours. Then my skin starts getting really greasy and my foundation starts to break down a little. I have heard that this primer works well for a lot of people with oily skin. Sadly, I am not one of them I see this being a great primer for someone with normal or drier skin. I don't need the added luminosity as I kind of have that on my own. Thank you, genetics. If had not been for that issue, I would have loved this primer.
I have done three sets of pictures to show you how it works. In the first set, I am not wearing any makeup at all. The only thing I have done is my morning skincare routine, which includes a little bit of the Kari Gran Tinted Lip Whip. The second set is me wearing only the primer. I applied it and let it set while I washed a few dishes. How glamorous, right? And the third set is foundation applied over the primer. Today I used Too Faced's Born This Way.

You can see some subtle improvements from the first picture to the last. If you already have great skin, you could probably get away with wearing only the primer for some added luminosity and pore refinement.One fantastic detail about the primer is that the full size comes with a pump. A lot of primers you have to squeeze out or some come with a paddle, like my deluxe sample. You also don't need a lot of product to cover your face, so it will last you a long lime. That kind of makes up for the $52 price tag.
