What to know about the freakiest fest of the year

Your Guide to the 2016 Freaky Deaky Music Festival

Freaky Deaky, the largest Halloween event in the Midwest, will be held at Toyota Park in Bridgeview, IL on October 28-30, 2016.

If you’re a big fan of electronic dance music (EDM) and hip-hop, this is your chance to hear some of the big names play in Chicago! DJ Snake, DJ Khaled, Disclosure and Travis Scott are on that list, just to name a few.

Over here at UrbanMatter, we’re huge fans of the festival and we figured we would help you out by sharing a guide with details and how-to’s for surviving the entire weekend. For the full lineup, check out their announcement trailer and day-by-day lineup flyer below. To purchase your tickets, visit their website. We’ll also be attending the festival, so stay tuned for a freaky festival recap later this month.

Weather

The weather is expected to be chilly during the weekend of the fest. As of now, the evening forecast will be around 40° for the weekend. In case of rain, bring a small umbrella… large umbrellas are not allowed in the festival. When we attended last year, the weather varied depending on whether or not we were in the middle of a crowd. Hint: Dancing also helps to warm you up!

What to Wear

Your Halloween costume, of course! Again, it might be cold so keep that in mind when planning your outfits. Remember: The festival is outdoors.

There is a list of items, costumes, and accessories that are prohibited from the festival. We would advise everyone to check out this list on their website before going to the festival. No one likes being turned away at the door, right?
