Maybe I'm getting curmudgeonly after all the commercialism of the holidays, but I confess I'm becoming impatient with app developers who keep bringing out more-of-the-same apps without interesting or useful new functions that offer improvements to existing products. I've just tested and reviewed Aqua Map USA, another charting app for Apple devices - and frankly, I found it a waste of my money and time looking at it. Pity naive new owners of smart devices shopping for good boating apps without some guidance! My advice: read reviews carefully, ignore the hype, and learn as much as you can before choosing the best app that will continue to meet your needs over time. Here are my own reviews of some dozen charting apps and other useful boating apps for sailors.
