Did you know…? The idea of celebrating Christmas in July originates from an all-girls’ camp celebration in 1933 and was popularized as a concept in the 1940 comedy film, Christmas in July, starring Dick Powell and Ellen Drew.

Last month’s challenge featured a folly, an architectural structure like a mini-temple with columns. This particular folly was tucked away on the grounds of Kykuit, the residence of the John D. Rockfeller family near Sleepy Hollow, New York. Kykuit, appropriately meaning lookout, overlooks the Hudson River just north of the Tappan Zee Bridge. The photo was taken in 2008.
