The Workers’ Party of Korea [WPK] 7th Term Central Committee (a/k/a 7th Central Committee) 7th Term Central Auditing Commission (7th Central Auditing Commission) met in Pyongyang on May 9 (Monday).  Attending the Central Auditing Commission meeting were its members.  Attending the WPK Central Committee meeting were Central Committee Members, Alternate Members (candidate members) and members of the Central Auditing Commission.

The Central Auditing Commission elected Choe Sung Ho as the chairman and Pak Myong Sun as vice chairwoman.

The WPK Central Committee meeting was presided over by Kim Jong Un (Kim Cho’ng-u’n).

Elected to the WPK Political Bureau Presidium were: Kim Jong Un; Kim Yong Nam (Supreme People’s Assembly [SPA] President); Vice Marshal Hwang Pyong So (Director of the Korean People’s Army [KPA] General Political Department); Pak Pong Ju (DPRK Premier); and, Choe Ryong Hae (WPK Vice Chairman for Workers’ and Social Organizations)

Elected as WPK Political Bureau Members were: Kim Jong Un; Kim Yong Nam; Vice Marshal Hwang Pyong So; Pak Pong Ju; Choe Ryong Hae; Kim Ki Nam (WPK Vice Chairman for Propaganda and Agitation [publicity and information]; Choe T’ae Bok (WPK Vice Chairman for Science and Education and SPA Chairman); Ri Su Yong (WPK Vice Chairman for and Director of International Affairs); Kim P’yo’ng-hae (WPK Vice Chairman for and Director of Cadres Affairs); O Su Yong (WPK Vice Chairman for and Director of Light Industry); Kwak Pom Gi (WPK Vice Chairman for and Director of Planning and Finance); Kim Yong Chol (WPK Chairman for and Director of National Intelligence and the United Front); Ri Man Gon (WPK Vice Chairman for Munitions and Machine-Building Industries); Yang Hyong Sop (SPA Presidium Vice President); Ro Tu Chol (DPRK Vice Premier and State Planning Commission Chairman); General Pak Yong Sik (Minister of the People’s Armed Forces); General Ri Myong Su (Chief of the KPA General Staff); General Kim Won Hong (Minister of State Security); General Choe Pu Il (Minister of People’ Security)

Elected as WPK Political Bureau Alternate (Candidate) Members were: Kim Su Gil (Chairman of the Pyongyang WPK Committee); Kim Nung O (Chairman of the North P’yo’ngan WPK Provincial Committee); Pak T’ae Song (Chairman of the South P’yo’ngan WPK Provincial Committee); Im Chol Ung (DPRK Vice Premier); Jo Yon Jun (Senior Deputy Director of the WPK Organization Guidance Department); Ri Pyong Chol (Senior Deputy Director of the WPK Organization Guidance Department); Colonel-General No Kwang Chol (1st Vice Minister of the People’s Armed Forces), and, Colonel-General Ri Yong Gil (Vice Chief of the KPA General Staff and immediate past Chief of the KPA General Staff).

The WPK Central Committee meeting also established and organized the Executive Policy Bureau, which will be filled by the WPK Vice Chairmen.  Elected to the Executive Policy Bureau and as Vice Chairman were: Choe Ryong Hae (WPK Vice Chairman for Workers’ and Social Organizations) Kim Ki Nam (WPK Vice Chairman for and Director of Propaganda and Agitation [publicity and information]; Choe T’ae Bok (WPK Vice Chairman for Science and Education and SPA Chairman); Ri Su Yong (WPK Vice Chairman for and Director of International Affairs); Kim P’yo’ng-hae (WPK Vice Chairman for and Director of Cadres Affairs); O Su Yong (WPK Vice Chairman for and Director of Light Industry); Kwak Pom Gi (WPK Vice Chairman for and Director of Planning and Finance); Kim Yong Chol (WPK Chairman for and Director of National Intelligence and the United Front); Ri Man Gon (WPK Vice Chairman for and Director of Munitions and Machine-Building Industries).

The WPK Central Committee meeting organized and appointed members of the Party Central Military Commission [CMC].  Elected to the CMC were: Vice Marshal Hwang Pyong So (Director of the Korean People’s Army [KPA] General Political Department); Pak Pong Ju (DPRK Premier); General Pak Yong Sik (Minister of the People’s Armed Forces); General Ri Myong Su (Chief of the KPA General Staff); Kim Yong Chol (WPK Chairman for and Director of National Intelligence and the United Front); Ri Man Gon (WPK Vice Chairman for and Director of Munitions and Machine-Building Industries); General Kim Won Hong (Minister of State Security); General Choe Pu Il (Minister of People’ Security); Kim Kyong Ok (Senior Deputy Director of the WPK Organization Guidance Department); Colonel-General Ri Yong Gil (Vice Chief of the KPA General Staff); Colonel-General So Hong Chan (Vice Chief of the KPA General Staff)

The Central Committee meeting also appointed and reappointed several department directors: Ri Il Hwan; An Jong Su; Ri Chol Man; Choe Sang Gon; Ri Yong Rae; Kim Jong Im; Kim Jung Hyop; Kim Man Song; and Kim Yong Su.  Ri Yong Sik was reappointed editor of Rodong Sinmun, the WPK’s daily newspaper.  Finally, the Control Commission was elected.  Former WPK Organization Guidance Department Deputy Director and former Chairman (nee Chief Secretary) of the South P’yo’ngan WPK Provincial Committee Hong In Bom was appointed Chairman of the Control Commission replacing a vacancy left by the December 2013 death of Kim Kuk T’ae.  Jong Myong Hak was re-elected 1st vice chairman and Ri Tuk Nam was reelected vice chairman.  Kim Yong Son was reelected as a member and Kim Yong Hwan, Kim Kum Chol and Kim Myong Chol were elected as members.
