Budding authors with a tendency to procrastinate will love the latest re-invention – of the 1980s WORD PROCESSOR.

Two mates have launched a revamped version of the retro tech to create a computer/typewriter without access to emails, Facebook or the internet to
allow for uninterrupted productive flow.

The Hemingwrite is designed to look like it is from that era of wacky make-up, neon outfits and electro music, but with added futuristic touches of continual Cloud back-up, an electronic paper screen, a 1million page plus memory and
wi-fi options.

Amazingly, Michigan inventors Adam Leeb, who worked in e-commerce and investment banking, and Patrick Paul, who worked in software and rooftop solar systems, funded their creation through the website, Kickstarter – a global crowdfunding platform.

Kickstarter, based in the United States, allows creators to announce their inventions to the world with the hope of raising enough funds to bring them to market.

The Hemingwrite reached its target of #250,000 (dollars) of posting, and even exceed its goal.

The guys managed to raise #342,471 from 1,096 backers. It is thought the new-age typewriter will be available to buy for #499 (dollars) by autumn.

Patrick said: “We’ve all been there, you’re in a jam to finish a paper, so you collect all your things together and go to the coffee shop and before long you are busy on Facebook.

“You can wake up in the morning and spend half an hour journaling before you turn on your phone and let the wired world dictate your day.”

Adam said: “We engineered the Hemingwrite to do one thing and do it sublimely well, there are no pop-up notifications or menus of any kind. It just works.”
