Woodworkers Fighting Cancer 2014

By Ollypj @OllyPJ

Today, in the woodworking world, it’s the annual fund-raising, Cancer-fighting charity build. Take a look on YouTube and you’ll find (from my reckoning) more than 20 people who’ve already supported this cause by uploading videos of the projects they’ve been working on. Below, I’m going to share with you three of my favourites – although that’s not to imply that I’m even halfway through my Watch Later list!

To learn about the cause and its origins, please head over to The Wood Whisperer’s site.

Read the information/video description box (at YouTube) on any one video and you’ll find links to many other participants – including several channels that are unknown to me.

It seems fitting then, that I should start with Marc Spagnuolo’s video. You’ll also find mention of Steve Ramsey’s (Woodworking for Mere Mortals) own toy box.

I’ve been a big fan of John Heisz’s channel and, on a day where YouTube has been over-run by Scrap Wood Projects, John has once again succeeded in his delivery:

Steve Carmichael, for me, produces some of the most entertaining and creative woodworking videos on YouTube. He has over 21,000 subscribers but I believe he deserves far more.

I’m unfortunately unable to take part myself this year but I do hope that the sharing of this post and occasion offers some support and raises the awareness.

Thanks for reading and please do take a look.
