Wolf It Down

Wolf it down
Fast cementing itself as one of the most consistent labels to emerge of late, Wolf Music Recordings is turning all the right heads. The fledgling label already boasts an array of future classics from the likes of KRL, The Revenge, Greymatter, Medlar and Session Victim. Initially part of the Wolf 007 EP vinyl-only release, Wolf Music are handing out ‘Just Peachy’ in celebration of the Wolf Music & Sleazy Beats compilation release. Ooft (AKA The Revenge) serves up a funky little edit, all hollow disco percussion and squidgy bass until the vocal loop finally enters at the 3 minute mark:
Ooft – Just Peachy
There’s an abundance of mediocre dance remixes of Nina Simone floating about in eternal internet limbo – bootlegs simply not worthy of a download. On this occasion however we have Hrdvision going for something a little more leftfield. The 29 year old Canadian arcapeggiates the vocal, with an uber stripped-down backdrop of stuttery sonics and prickly synth stabs. Wonderful stuff:
Nina Simone - Feeling Good (Hrdvsion Remix) [pelski highly recommends]
Houltoug goes for a restrained edit of a Dusty Springfield classic, adding a pattering of bass pads and a sparse rattle of funky percussion:
Dusty Springfield - Son Of A Preacher Man (Holtoug Remix)
