Winter Skincare Favourites

By Kerker @sparklingker

winter skincare favouritesToday I’ll be talking about the winter skincare favourites I use during the cooler months. As the weather changes, I also like to change up my skincare range to match the weather. Here are 6 items I’m loving this winter:

Apivita Express Beauty with Cucumber
In winter, I like to use a hydration mask once a week because my skin doesn’t quite get all the hydration it needs from my moisturiser. I’ve been loving Apivita Express Beauty Masks. They are great if you’re like me who changes new products and are not committed to buying a big bottle that you might use 2 or 3 times. I bought this from Priceline and they came with 2 sachets which are very travel friendly. Each sachet has more than enough to cover your entire face, you can even use a sachet twice but I usually like to apply it on really thick. As the mask is drying, there is a slight cooling sensation, I found it a little strange at the start but I’m actually quite used to it now. My two favorite masks from Apivita are the Prickly Pear and Cucumber.

Neutrogena Body Moisturizer*
I use Neutrogena Body Moisturizer straight after the shower, I find that it absorbs extremely well right after a bath or shower. This product has a mild floral fragrance and I was quite surprised at how amazing it smelled. The following morning when I woke up, my legs were slightly sticky but not too bad. The moisturiser itself really helps to reduce dryness on my arms and legs.

L’Occitane Hand Cream
This is my favorite hand cream for the last few months. I’ve been using this product throughout the day and my hands feel instantly soft and smooth. After I started using it, my hands no longer feel tight or dry. This hand cream is not sticky or greasy (can’t stand slippery hands). I am not surprised that this is one of L’Occitane’s best sellers!

Rosehip Plus Skin Boost Roll on*
I can’t believe someone has finally thought to make a roll on! I used to find the glass bottles quite delicate to handle and they were not travel friendly at all. The compact size of the packaging means it is very travel friendly and you can target specific areas you want such as around the nose and under the eyes. The roll on ball helps control the amount of product that comes out, I know when I used to use the dropper, I used a lot more product than I should have. Rosehip oil is great in winter since it can help reduce dry patches and scars whilst improving skin hydration.

Neutrogena Foot Cream*
I have to admit, I normally don’t really put much effort into my feet. In fact, I don’t really care about them

:(
. I got onto the Neutrogena Foot Cream when the lovely PR at Neutrogena sent me a care package which contained this product. Ever since I started using it, I’ve been hooked! I use this product when I’m sitting in front of the tv at home after work. It will work better if you put it on right after the shower but I always forget. My heels are not cracked or anything, they are actually in decent condition but in winter they do feel a tad dry. By using a small amount I started to notice my heels feeling softer. As my heels are not cracked, I can’t comment if it will help you with it (sorry). This product is greasy and I would recommend to use it at night and wear a sock so that it helps the product to absorb better.

Dermalogica Multivitamin Power Serum*
Dermalogica never fails to impress me, it is one of my all time favorite brands. The Dermalogica Multivitamin Power Serum is from their Age Smart range. This range helps to prevent premature aging, fine lines and wrinkles. As I’m approaching 30, I really need to start thinking about prevention. Most people start earlier but I was in denial for a while. The serum is light and velvety, and has a matte finish. After using it for a 3 months, I have noticed my complexion being brighter and smoother.

Do you change your skincare routine based on the weather?

Products denoted with * was provided for consideration. I was not obligated to blog about them but chose to because the products are awesome. The L’Occitane Hand Cream was initially provided to me however since finishing the tube, I have purchased another.
