You do know I teach an almost unruly bunch of teenagers, don't you? Teenagers teach you a lot, what you were too stupid to learn when you were their age...
Oh...I think I am excluding myself from this endless list of the ignoramus-those who are ignorant...
However as I control this effervescent bunch of barely controlled hormones ,I consider myself to be at the top.

While my job is to ensure that the boys and girls never have fun together,once in a while I am sympathetic to a lost cause.
Many moons ago,a radio channel was auditioning for raw talent from school. Naturally , the children were all super excited.The prospect of being paid to speak your mind in a snazzy office and being able to support your education is a wonderful thing.
However the best speakers in school were sworn enemies.
Sworn enemies because the boy had harboured a secret crush on the girl and the girl had snubbed him, rather made fun of the pimples that adorned his cheeks.
Hormones, yes.
While the lady was lucky to be blessed with clear ,albeit coffee tinted skin, the lad was a fair skinned pimply monster. All raw and pink and some pus filled.
Bad, I know,but he loved sweets. And they aggravated his pimples.
I know , I have dished out many many extra sweetened,syrupy glasses of cold coffee while we were practicing for various events.
And as it happens, during the many practices and skirmishes between the two, many secrets were poured out.
Separately.
So the lad revealed what had happened a few classes ago and how she would openly make fun of his appearance.
Did I mention the stubble?
He believed that shaving everyday would make him less of a man and would give him a beard that would be too difficult to shave in the near future.
Men!
What things they think?
They never see the world from the point of view of a woman. Are clean faces unmanly? A stubble is good only till it ceases to be a shadow. A well groomed look is great, shows the contours of the face and eliminates the chances of whisker burns.
A little food for thought for him about all the info on the grime and oil and dust mites that sit on skin pores and form pimples. Neem came to the rescue as an effective treatment. Finally the lad was convinced to shave regularly.
Et Voila, a few days of being clean-shaven later, I noticed how this lady was finally watching him and smiling...and conversing ...
And the practices for the Radio DJ auditioning were becoming smoother and more cordial.
For once, I was not loathe to playing good Samaritan.
Well they did not make it past the semi final round of auditions,but they certainly became more focused on each other.
Funny , what a clean face will do?
