Who Pays for What at Your Wedding?
Today...all traditional ideals have been somewhat thrown out the window and yet the payment structure of the weddings have stayed pretty much the same.  Now, that is not to say that there are not some brides and grooms out there saving their pennies for their big day.  For the sake of this blog we are going to go by traditional terms.

Now there are a cast of characters to every wedding...the bride's parents, the groom's parents, the bride and groom, the bride's maids and the groom's men. There are a few extra but we will address them at the end of the blog.
The bride's parents or in our case, the bride's mother, pays for most of the wedding.  This includes the food, entertainment, venue, flowers, cake, wedding dress, favors, ceremony fees, transportation, efficient fees, the invitations...pretty much what is not cover by everyone else listed.

The groom's family covers the rehearsal dinner which is held the night before the wedding.  It is a great time for all those involved in the wedding to gather.  It can be at a restaurant or at their home depending on their budget.  The groom's parents also pay for their outfits for the wedding day.

The bride purchases the wedding ring for her future husband and the gifts for her bridal party.  She can along with her beloved purchase a present for the parents to be given the night of the rehearsal dinner.  This sounds very self serving...lol.
The groom is responsible for his suit or tuxedo, the bride's wedding band, the groomsmen gifts and flowers if he would like to send them to his bride at the wedding.  He is also traditionally responsible for the honeymoon.
The bridal party gets a big swallow of the expense.  So pick wisely and those who are close to you.  The girls will be in charge of throwing the bridal shower, buying their dresses, purchasing a group gift and putting together a bachelorette party.

The groomsmen have an easier time.  They will be responsible for renting their attire and throwing a bachelor party.

Any of the ushers, ring bearers, and flower girls will have their outfits paid by their parents.
Weddings are not a cheap deal but when involved on that special day for someone you really love...it is worth the investment.  Just get use to eating hot dogs for awhile.
