Where In the World No? No.42 Peru

By Lwblog @londonwalks

Where In the World No? No.42 PeruWhere in the World? is our occasional series in which Adam, The Daily Constitutional’s Editor is logging the locations of his London Walkers.
“We meet people from all over the world, and I thought it would be fun to map them out to create a picture of where our London Walkers (and Daily Constitutionalists) come from.
I’ll be breaking it down by English and Welsh counties, Scottish regions, Irish provinces, U.S States, Canadian provinces, Australian states, European, Asian, African and South American countries.”

Adam writes…
Great to meet Rosia from Peru last week on the Rock'n'Roll London Pub walk! Rosia is studying at the London School Of Economics and is a big fan of Pink Floyd.

As regular Daily Constitutionalists will know, I like to make London connections with our London Walkers and in this case it is my great pleasure to blog about Michael Bentine!

Bentine was a founder member of The Goon Show (with Spike Milligan, Peter Sellers and Harry Secombe). Bentine performed with that legendary comedy troupe at The Playhouse Theatre on Shaftesbury Avenue when the venue was a BBC recording studio.
Born in Hertfordshire in 1922 of a Peruvian father, Bentine was awarded the Order of merit of Peru for his fundraising work in the aftermath of an earthquake there in 1970.
A London Walk costs £10 – £8 concession. To join a London Walk, simply meet your guide at the designated tube station at the appointed time. Details of all London Walks can be found at www.walks.com.
