Over the past couple of years, exciting new developments in the field of machine learning mean that now — more than ever before — the company with the most user data develops the best product. People have high expectations for their technology; they now want it to anticipate their needs, not just deliver services when specifically requested. However, sometimes there is public backlash to the data gathering, such as the recent concern about Mattel’s Hello Barbie.
